8/16/05 Tuesday MLB Plays
I am losing customers quick and for good reason. I have not been
winning lately. In fact, the past 30 days have been downright torrid.
I have been doing alright with my higher rated plays so here's hoping
today will continue.
Cincinnati Reds +108 over San Francisco Giants (1.5 Units)
It is no surprise that we would back the Reds here today. First, we
see them as dogs. Second, the Giants are not a great team on the road
as 26-33. Jason Schmidt is living off of last season's success and the
spreads all show that. The Reds lost yesterday and we can expect them
to come back and play well at home today. They have been smashing the
heck out of the ball, winning like crazy. The Reds home record has
started to dip lately but their road success figures to seep into
today's game.
Cincinnati Reds - San Francisco Giants OVER total (1.0 Units)
I like this over because the Giants are actually pretty decent against
lefthanders. They are a torrid -15 units against right handers in
non-divisional games but positive units against lefties in
non-divisional games. The Reds will score but I expect the Giants to
do so as well.
>Regarding not playing the Cleveland Indians I went against K. Rogers in his last game and actually won that game
;-). I am not so sure I want to go against him again. Plus, I believe
the price to pay for the Indians is pretty steep. Anyways, I will look
into those systems you mentioned and investigate but I am always
worried about taking a team coming off being swept.
I checked it and I see that American League home favorites in the
first game of a series having lost its last 3 home games with more
than 0 days rest is only 27-26. In fact, with zero days rest they
would be 61%. This is a trend that I have been noticing that teams
actually do better playing the next day as opposed to getting a days
rest. Who knows, Cleveland may be rusty today and bring their
struggling ways into this game.
