Saturday's MLB Picks: July 23
1-5 day yesterday going -5.5 Units. Our only winner being the
Cincinnati Reds . There were two games that we lost that could have
been winners. The Rangers and the Indians.
Onto our picks for Saturday.
Texas Rangers -110 over Oakland Athletics (1.5 Units)
Texas Rangers -1.5 RUNLINE +170 over Oakland Athletics (0.5 Units)
The Oakland Athletics have been winning and by doing with a
fascinating combination of offense and pitching. This gives us good
value today when there shouldn't be. Kirk Saarloos? Although Saarloos
has pitched decent this year, he has a career 9.40 ERA versus the
Rangers. You see, the Rangers tear right handed pitching. They are
still 14-9 off a loss at home against righties. 10-3 in that spot
against non-divisional rivals. 22-9 dating back to last year. Okay,
we've used this same argument backing the Rangers before and it has
worked. Considering the Oakland Athletics are 7-15 this season against
right handed pitching in a non-division rivalry game. They end up 3-11
if this is not the first game of the series. Sweet. We like our
chances here with the small juice in this game.
Atlanta Braves -120 over Arizona Diamondbacks (1.5 Units)
Battle of left handers. Remember I went against the Braves for four
consecutive road games and won each of them citing the poor Braves
offense on the road. So why we back them. Well, on the road versus
lefties, these Braves are 9-3 +6 Units this season 27-11 dating back
to last year. This improves to 6-1 this year, 15-4 dating back to last
year if they are coming off a loss. The Diamondbacks were 13-40 last
year versus lefties. This year, they have done respectfully going
11-12 but only averaging 4 runs. We like Mike Hampton today, he is
solid pitching a 2.76 ERA on the road. The Diamondbacks offense has
not been all that great recently so we like our chances with the the
very decent -120 juice. The whole purpose of this bet is based on
LISTED PITCHER: Mike Hampton. I understand that they may change
pitchers. If it is J. Sosa, do not play this bet. If it is Horacio
Ramirez, no problem.
As stated in my writeup for the Atlanta Braves , that it is not a play
if Jorge Sosa is the pitcher. We only intend to play the Braves if
they had a lefty. Nevertheless, our only play for today is:
Texas Rangers -110 over Oakland Athletics (1.5 Units)
