6/24/05 Friday's MLB Picks Inbox
2-2 day yesterday. For those of you who flat bet my games just like
the National Sports Monitor, you were up +0.45 Units thanks to the
Dodgers. Otherwise, you were down -1.12 Units. Anyways, I have 6
strong plays today. Many of my systems only work for the first game of
a series and because Fridays are always the First Game of the Series,
we see ourselves liking many plays today.
Houston Astros -1.5 (+151) over Texas Rangers (1.0 Units)
It is no secret that home teams have an advantage in the first game of
any series but they have a stronger advantage during Interleague play.
We see ourselves backing three Interleague home teams on the run line
today that we feel can beat the RL 50% of the time.
Result: Pending
Los Angeles Angels -1.5 (+138) over Los Angeles Dodgers (1.0 Units)

Tampa Bay Devil Rays (+120) over Florida Marlins (1.5 Units)
The Devil Rays are not usually a popular pick but we like them here
today coming off a series victory over the Yankees. They bring their
confidence into this series. We like the value taking a +120 team at
home where the home advantage is larger than normal.
Result: Pending
Tampa Bay Devil Rays - Florida Marlins Over 10 (1.0 Units)
We are utilizing a system here for the over that has gone 20-8 over
the past 6 seasons. It is a simple system that basically says that
when a poor team is playing at home in Game 1 of a series coming off a
strong offensive performance and going against a team that itself is
coming off a win.
Result: Pending
Pittsburgh Pirates +175 over St. Louis Cardinals (1.0 Units)
We should have went for the Pirates yesterday but it is okay, we like
the value here today. +175 in any division rivalry game always opens
up my eyes. We are merely taking the value we see in this game.
Result: Pending
