10/02/2005 Sunday's MLB Picks
Milwauke Brewers +145 over Pittsburgh Pirates (1.5 Units)
Zach Duke is getting a lot of love as he should. He has pitched great for a rookie but he is backed up by a pretty bad team. This is the last game of the season and we do not expect much effort/care from either side. Of course the home team has the advantage in Game 162, winning their games by about 3% better than the rest of the season but there is a small sample size so we cannot read too much into it. Anyways, these Brewers are on a 15-4 run against left-handed pitching. They are surprisingly strong against lefties and could come out strong against Zach.
Chicago White Sox +185 over Cleveland Indians (1.5 Units)
We see the odds crazy in favor of these White Sox again. Again, these Indians are only really 500 against right handed pitching at home. We get a division rival at good odds here because of the overwhelming betting public on the other side.
Oakland Athletics +165 over Seattle Mariners (1.5 Units)
Going against Hernandez has been pretty profitable. He comes with a lot of hype and has a lot of promise for an 18 year righty but he is only 4-4 because he is supported by a horrible offense. The Mariners committed 3 errors yesterday which is a sign that their minds are not in the game. These A's probably squeak out another victory as the Mariners are not that great versus lefties themselves.
