9/4/05 Sunday's MLB Picks
2-2 yesterday but still positive units.
Cleveland Indians -105 over Minnesota Twins (1.0 Units)
The Indians have won in 7 of Jake Westbrook's past 8 starts. They have been playing well in general lately. We had them yesterday as +155 dogs yesterday predicting that they had a 50% chance of winning. They almost won it if not for an unearned run they gave up in the bottom of the 9th. With them fighting for the wild card, we expect them to bounce back against an unproven Twins pitcher.
Texas Rangers -140 over Kansas City Royals (1.0 Units)
We are utilizing a system for road favorites against left handed pitching that is about 45 points off the spread. The Rangers actually ought to be -180. Also, another angle that I like to use is to go for road teams in Game 4 of a series looking for a sweep. A constrained angle in our system is 21-1 over the past 4 years based on an opponent of less than 40% etc.
Chicago Cubs -125 over Pittsburgh Pirates (1.0 Units)
With the Pirates recent struggles and the Cubs picking it up lately, we like them here getting a 3rd straight winner on the road.
