We bet on the Giants yesterday citing momentum as the key. When you're winning like the Giants had been, things go right. When you're losing (coming off getting swept by the Rockies) you committ errors, lose focus, etc. These Mets are in a tailspin as they are 2-7 L9. The Braves are 4-1 L5 with that one loss being an extra inning affair. The Braves are heating off and the Mets are cooling down. We know Pedro is pitching today but as I usually say, it does not matter who is pitching for you when you fail to score runs. The Mets have been struggling offensively. We also see Smoltz in today's matchup, so a pitcher's duel like this benefits the home team. I am utilizing a system for really small home favorites in the 120s and lower range that hits at a 66% clip. If the teams are division rivals, it improves to 20-4 L7 years.
