9/7/05 Wednesday's MLB Picks (2)
Another nice winner yesterday for us on Braves whose momentum is carrying them to nice sweet wins. You are going to call me a hypocrite when you see one of my plays for today.
Oakland Athletics -170 over Seattle Mariners (1.0 Units)
I love going against the Mariners. They are 27-42 on the road. The Athletics are a decent 40-30 at home. I say decent because it does not compare to the home records of the Red Sox, Yankees, Braves, or the Astros. It is still much better than most of the other teams. Analyzing it further, we see the Athletics 17-6 at home versus lefties. WOW! They are below 500 at home versus righties. What's better is that they average almost 2 more runs per game versus lefties than righties at home. Although, I have been backing teams with momentum, these Athletics have been struggling. But I am utilizing an odd system for home teams that play well against lefties off of two home losses against the same opponent it is currently facing at home. If constrained enough, it becomes a perfect 9-0. It also helps us that we have streaking Danny Haren on the mound. Make listed pitchers: Jamie Moyer and Danny Haren.
Houston Astros +145 over Philadelphia Phillies (1.0 Units)
Why make these Astros such huge underdogs. I understand that the Astros are not great on the road and sometimes they fail to score many runs. But with them streaking lately and Vicente Padilla totally overrated, lets take these Astros with the wonderful dog spread based totally on the wrong spread. I am utilizing a simple system for underdogs over 135 or so that hits at about 55%. Action on both pitchers.
