9/12/2005 Monday's MLB Picks (3)
Detroit Tigers +101 over Minnesota Twins (1.5 Units)
Tale of two different teams. The Twins got swept on the road at the hands of the Indians. The Tigers are off two consecutive wins against the Royals. The Tigers have all the momentum coming into this game. And we will try to take advantage with the Tigers as underdogs for the game.
Texas Rangers -103 over Baltimore Orioles (1.5 Units)
This is basically just a play against the Orioles. We see them off twins against Seattle. They are travelling to Texas. The Rangers are pretty good at home versus right handed pitching. Although they have struggled lately, we do see them off a win. We see a good spread here with the home-town team because of the unknown pitcher of these Rangers. It may not matter because we expect a good offensive performance from these Rangers off of Cabrera.
Los Angels Angels over Seattle Mariners -129 (1.0 Units)
After getting swept by the Devil Rays, the Angels have been killing it. They have only lost 1 series and that was to the Red Sox. We like the Angels here today as we see them off a 4 game winning streak. Ervin Santana has pitched some great games against the Yankees and Red Sox. Watch him, he may pitch great today. We were backing these Mariners earlier because they were at home as a favorite up against a non-divisional rival. The Mariners, however, are 16-26 against divisional rivals. The Mariners are 4-14 at home against division rivals.
