9/15/05 Thursday's MLB Picks (3)
St. Louis Cardinals +125 over Chicago Cubs (1.5 Units)
Very rare for us to get the Cardinals at +125. What's better is that we get to go against these struggling Cubbies who are coming off a series loss to the lowly Reds. The Cardinals are not playing much better but they did come up with a series win against the Pirates. Their losing yesterday can actually help them have a bounce back game today. We like Jeff Suppan here today as well with the +125 in a game that should be tight.
Milwaukee Brewers -105 over Arizona Diamondbacks (1.5 Units)
Another play on these Brewers as we really have no faith on these D'backs. Ricki Weeks single handedly cost us the game with 7 LOBs. He went 0 for 5 and most of the times people were in scoring position. Can you forget his bases loaded 1 out, choke job. Or his 3 strikeouts with a man on second with less than 2 outs. He is a rookie and I guess he will learn but that lineup stunk it up except for the middle part. The middle part did so well that they could have had a huge inning if the bottom part of the order did anything. That bodes well today as we see these Brewers likely to get the series win on Thursday.
Seattle Mariners +120 over Texas Rangers (1.0 Units)
These Mariners played an incredible series against the Angels. They swept that Series at home. It was not an easy series for them considering the Angles are in a playoff hunt. The Angels put out monster efforts all 3 games but in the end, the Mariners pulled away with the sweep. The Rangers are coming off a win and will likely have a letdown befall upon them with these streaking Mariners.
