9/26/05 Monday's MLB Picks
Pittsburgh Pirates -112 over Los Angeles Dodgers (1.5 Units)
We know that the Pirates are in last place of the NL Central but they are playing a weak NL West foe. The Pirates are 500 against the NL West and the Dodgers do not even have a formidable starting pitcher on the mound today in Edwin Jackson.
Detroit Tigers +130 over Chicago White Sox (1.0 Units)
Nate Robertson is a good pitcher but it is too bad that he is on a bad team. We know that these White Sox are struggling. They came alive against the Twins but that was at home. We are taking these Tigers to surprise the travelling White Sox with a great +130 line.
San Francisco Giants +155 over San Diego Padres (1.0 Units)
For the Giants to win the NL West, they are either going to have to sweep the Padres or at worst win 3 of 4. Even if they win 3 of 4, that would leave them 2 games behind the Padres with only 3 games to go. Anyways, we know the Giants have the determination to win but of course so do the Padres. The fact of the matter is that these Giants are a real playoff-caliber team with Barry Bonds in the lineup. Without him, they are a scrub team. Therefore, the +155 is value.
