National League MLB Standings
The Current MLB Standings are a little surprising to some. With some teams stomping far ahead in their division and other teams being so close in standings, there is no telling what fans and experts can expect to see in the major league this year. However, it will be interesting to see how things turn out for the most exciting divisions and which teams will come out as winners.
National League
The National League certainly has some of the most exciting divisions this year. The East is one that is drawing a great deal of attention with the Mets lunging so far ahead they are setting league records. The Mets are heading up the division, with Atlanta looking on from second place.
Meanwhile, the Central teams are a little closer than those in the East. The Astros are leading, with the Cubs, Cardinals, and Reds closing in and tied for second place. The Pirates are not showing too well this season and are at the bottom of the Central division by far.
The West is close as well, with teams sitting only one or two games apart from each other. The Giants are at the top with the Rockies in second place. The Dodgers still have hope however. They are in third, but only a few games back.
American League MLB Standings
While the American League is off to a fantastic start, experts typically don’t think the American League teams are providing the same amount of excitement as the National League, at least as far as unexpected results go. However, there is still a sense of great competition in the American League, as the divisions are closer than ever. With the intense amount of talent being displayed, there is no question these teams have started the season with the intent of winning.
In the East division, the Red Sox are leading with the Orioles following extremely closely behind. However, the Devil Rays, Blue Jays, and Yankees are not trailing that far back. Even closer is the West division, where the Angels, Mariners, and Athletics are all tied for first place with 6 wins each. The Rangers are down with an extra loss, but with this interesting division things can certainly change.
The Indians and White Sox are dominating the Central division, which is not such a shock. The Tigers might be able to sneak their way into the top, being just one game down. The Twins also have a little hope, however the Royals might want to go ahead and pack up. With only two wins, they are unlikely candidates for a winning season.
