Martinez’s Big 200th
Pedro Martinez’s 200th win was sweeter than ever. The sweetness wasn’t due to the wonderful celebration in order, but because the magical 200th win came against the Atlanta Braves. The Mets are having such a great start to their season, it almost seems like the 200th win for Martinez is just the beginning of a fantastic winning year for the team.
There are only sixth current players who have a 200th win under their belt, making Pedro Martinez the seventh. In addition, Martinez proudly holds the best winning record of all of the seven who have at least 200 wins, which makes it even more astounding. With his team holding a five game lead in their division, over Atlanta and Philly, they have made major league history.
Pedro Martinez stated it was so great and exciting to hit the 200 mark because there was always so much speculation over his build. Experts say there is nothing to question at this point about the pitcher’s incredible ability and physical talent. The Mets are likely feeling luckier than ever to have such a great player as part of their team. Only time will tell if the Mets will prevail throughout the season, but experts are guessing they certainly will end up on top.
