Boston Red Sox Betting Trends Part 2 of 3
In Part 1, we focused on how the Boston Red Sox played poorly on the road in the first game of a series. Out of 25 road series played, you would have been +12 units. We all know the Red Sox are still a good team and are very capable of coming back from such a loss.
After those 17 losses, the Boston Red Sox came back to a 12-5, +6 units record. Although they were not very prepared for game 1, they were motivated for their second game if they had lost the first game.
Does any of this translate into seeing the Boston Red Sox as an unprepared team at home in Game 1 of a series? Actually, the opposite. In 2005, were 18-9, +3.2 units in the first game of a home series.
Just as they were plagued with unpreparedness for a road series opener, the opponents of the Boston Red Sox felt the same.
Just as they were dominant after a loss in the second game of a road series, these Boston Red Sox were also very capable at home after losing the series opener. Dating back to the start of the 2002 season, these Red Sox are 29-11, +13 units in that spot.
