Carlos Del Valle
The AM 570 team welcomed Carlos Del Valle to the station. They knew he would be a great addition, with his vast knowledge of sports and experience he carried into the station with him. It all began with Carlos Del Valle going after his dream in 1983, after earning a degree from the University of Idaho. He began making his mark by starting a new sports department at KCPQ TV in Tacoma, Washington. He served as the sports director and sports anchor there and did a great job.
Next, Carlos moved onto KING5-TV as the main sports anchor and also did the weekly Seahawks show on KJR-AM. He did this for almost thirteen years, leaving his mark there as well by setting the standard for those who followed. When he came to LA, he knew his career was not ending, but only growing to another level.
He started working on the weekends in Los Angeles as a reporter for sports. He covered all of the major sports teams in the area. In addition, he did the “Sunday Night Sports” show in Los Angeles. He really started gaining a great reputation in the area and more doors started opening for Carlos Del Valle.
After reporting on two various Olympic specials and participating in major coverage from the Salt Lake City Olympics in the year of 2002, he really started being noticed across the country. The work he did for the Olympics alone, earned Carlos Del Valle two Emmy awards for the coverage.
