John Salley
John Salley is one of the few former athletes that have been a part of the Fox Sports Radio network. However, if you know who John Salley is, you immediately understand why Fox Sports Radio wanted him to be a part of their team. Salley was a NBA player that won three different world titles for three different teams. He is the only person in the world to have accomplished that goal. He was an amazing player that brought so much to every team he was a part of.
Salley, who stands at 6’11 played both forward and center for the teams he was on. He was a part of the Detroit Pistons, LA Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, and Miami Heat. His nickname is “Spider” because of his aggressive style. He brings that same aggressive attitude to the radio, only in a less intimidating way.
In addition to being a great basketball player in the NBA, John Salley is also a very intelligent man. He knows a lot about sports in general and has a great way with the public. He is respectable and professional on-air and off-air. He is a dignified player and person that Fox Sports is glad to have around.
In the Fall of 2001, John Salley joined the Fox Sports Radio team. He started off as a simple contributor of the Best Damn Sports Show Period. He did such an incredible job with contributing that he was offered a full-time co-hosting position. He can now be heard on Sundays from 3am to 6am ET on Fox Sports Radio.
