T. J. Simers
T.J. Simers was named California Sportswriter of the ear in 2000. T.J. Simers is known for his provocative commentary. Simers’ commentary brings out passion from those who read and listen to him, both positive and negative. While some think he’s fantastic, others think he is quite disagreeable. It’s all a matter of perspective, and Simers doesn’t seem to care, he simply states what he thinks!
T. J. Simers attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb Illinois, and he has been entertaining readers for many years. He currently does a show with his daughter Tracy, called Simers Says. T.J. Simers has also appeared on several television shows as well. His television credits include “Beyond the Glory”, “Around the Horn” and “ESPN Sports Century” which he appeared on several times with many other big names in the sports world, such as John Elway and Lawrence Taylor. On “Around The Horn” T.J. Simers appeared as the LA Times Panelist, and he appeared in an episode of Beyond The Glory titled “Sex and Sports.”
Simers used to be the professional football writer for the San Diego Union-Tribune, a beat writer for the Rocky Mountain News, and the Commercial Appeal in Memphis Tennessee, an editor for the sports section at the Morristown Daily Record, the Coeur d’Alene Press, the Beloit Daily News, and the DeKalb (Illinois) Chronicle.
