Picks for 7/12/09
Result: +2.19 units
Los Angeles Dodgers (125) over Milwaukee Brewers (1.0 Units) -
The Dodgers are 22-9, +12 units off a loss. And as a dog, these Dodgers are 17-8, +12.9 units. SO we expect the Dodgers to bounce back today as a dog off a loss. The Dodgers are 19-8 at the backend of any series so as the series wears on and becomes boring, these Dodgers continue to play well.
The Brewers are in a good position too seeing that they hit lefties pretty well but offensively they've been struggling. Although they average 4.7 runs a game on the season, they are averaging less than 4 runs a game L10 and just a little bit over 4 runs a game L20.

Pittsburgh Pirates (189) over Philadelphia Phillies (1.0 Units) -
The Pirates don't win too many games but that is why they are undervalued. The Phillies are just 2-5 with Happ on the mound and they are below 500 at home. So they should not be -200 today.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Los Angeles Angels (129) over New York Yankees (1.5 Units) -
The Angels always spoil the Yankees. They have their number. Dating back to the beginning of 10 seasons ago, these Angels are 60-44, +42.2 units against the Yankees. With only one losing season during that entire stretch. By far, a big spoiler of the Yankees during the playoffs as well.
Whenever a home team scores double digits in the first 2 games of a series, they'll undoubtedly be looking good in the third game of the series. Because, what are the odds that the road team will be able to turn around the momentum factors in the game and take Game 3?
What makes this game better for us to bet on is the fact that this is the last game before the All Star Break. How many road teams completely lacking in momentum would be able to come back on the road when they are looking at a half a week of vacation in front of them? It is like taking your last day of work before the Christmas vacation seriously. It just does not happen.
